Job Description
- Perform OLT to Customer End (FTTH) fiber connectivity and maintenance.
- Carry out fiber splicing using fusion splicing machines.
- Handle ODF, FDH/FAT, FDB, splitter and distribution boxes.
- Perform OLT-to-ONT fiber connectivity and troubleshoot fiber-related issues.
- Identify and rectify fiber cuts, low optical power, high attenuation and signal loss.
- Use OTDR and optical power meter for fiber testing and fault identification.
- Perform fiber laying, jointing, termination and restoration work.
- Connect and maintain customer-side ONT/ONU fiber connections.
- Check fiber power levels at OLT, splitter and customer premises.
- Handle pole-to-pole fiber routing and last-mile FTTH connectivity.
- Attend customer complaints related to fiber connectivity and internet outages.
- Maintain proper fiber joint records, cable tagging and route identification.
- Follow safety procedures while working on poles, ladders and customer premises.
- Coordinate with the NOC and Network Team for technical issue resolution.
- Required SkillsGood knowledge of FTTH / GPON architecture.
- Practical knowledge of OLT, ONT/ONU, ODF, FAT/FDB and Splitters.
- Hands-on experience with Fusion Splicing Machine.
- Knowledge of OTDR and Optical Power Meter.
- Ability to trace fiber routes and identify fiber faults.
- Basic understanding of fiber loss, attenuation and optical power levels.
