Junior Site Engineer

Job Title: Civil Site Construction Engineer – Water Tank & Hydraulic Infrastructure

Department: Field Operations & Infrastructure

Reports To: Construction Manager / Project Superintendent

Job Summary

We are seeking an active, hands-on Civil Site Construction Engineer to lead field execution for water storage and hydraulic infrastructure projects. In addition to managing daily site operations and technical compliance, you will directly source, recruit, and supervise specialized skilled labor required for water tank construction (e.g., steel fixers, shuttering carpenters, and concrete crews).

Key Responsibilities

• Specialized Labor Recruitment & Deployment: Sourcing, hiring, and onboarding skilled and general laborers specifically qualified for water tank construction, including rebar tiers, formwork technicians, and concrete placement crews.
• Day-to-Day Site Management: Direct daily construction operations, assign trade tasks, and manage site logistics, materials, and heavy equipment.
• Water Tank Execution & QA/QC: Inspect rebar layout, formwork assembly, pre-stressed concrete, post-tensioning, and waterproofing applications to ensure complete structural integrity and leak prevention.
• Contractor & Trade Supervision: Supervise specialized crews, evaluate work rate performance, manage daily attendance, and approve payroll logs for site labor.
• Hydraulic Testing & Inspection: Oversee hydrostatic leak testing, earthwork compaction, foundation preparation, and final tank curing processes.
• Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Enforce OSHA safety standards, conduct daily site safety briefings, and ensure compliant confined-space entry protocols for tank interiors.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field experience.
• Field Experience: 3+ years of direct, hands-on site experience in water infrastructure (ground-level, elevated, or pre-cast reinforced concrete water tanks).
• Workforce Management: Proven track record in recruiting, mobilizing, and managing skilled labor crews for specialized civil works.
• Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification and Confined Space Entry Training required.
• Technical Proficiency: Expertise in reading structural blueprints, managing RFIs, verifying surveying alignments (GPS/Total Station), and utilizing Procore or PlanGrid.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with circular pre-stressed concrete or post-tensioned tank systems.
• Valid Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
