Job Description
*Job Summary*
The Conveyor Belt Installation Technician is responsible for the installation, alignment, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of conveyor belt systems. The role requires ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation of conveyor equipment while following company safety and quality standards.
*Key Responsibilities*
Install and assemble conveyor belt systems as per engineering drawings.
Align conveyor frames, pulleys, rollers, and belt tracking systems.
Perform conveyor belt jointing (mechanical or vulcanized, if applicable).
Install motors, gearboxes, bearings, idlers, and drive units.
Conduct belt tensioning, tracking, and alignment.
Perform commissioning and functional testing of conveyor systems.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and carry out corrective maintenance.
Inspect conveyor components for wear and recommend replacements.
Follow preventive maintenance schedules.
Read mechanical drawings and installation layouts.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and use proper PPE.
Prepare installation and maintenance reports.
Coordinate with electrical, automation, and production teams during installation and commissioning.
*Required Skills*
Knowledge of conveyor belt installation and maintenance.
Mechanical assembly and fitting skills.
Ability to read engineering drawings.
Experience with hand tools and power tools.
Knowledge of bearings, pulleys, gearboxes, chains, sprockets, and couplings.
Basic knowledge of motors and industrial equipment.
Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to travel to customer/project sites.
