Site Engineer

Key Responsibilities (Job Description)

Project Planning & Coordination

1.     Assist Project Manager/Senior Engineer in execution of electrical projects

2.     Understand project scope, specifications, and client requirements

3.     Coordinate with design, procurement, production, and QA/QC teams

4.     Track project milestones and escalate delays/issues

Design & Engineering

1.     Interpret SLDs, GA drawings, and wiring schematics

2.     Prepare layout drawings using AutoCAD/SolidWorks

3.     Perform engineering calculations (cable sizing, load distribution, breaker selection)

4.     Develop cable schedules, load lists, and panel wiring details

Documentation

1.     Prepare and maintain:

2.     Bill of Materials (BOM)

3.     Design reports

4.     Testing procedures/manuals

5.     As-built drawings

6.     Generate datasheets and technical manuals

Quality & Compliance

1.     Ensure adherence to IS, IEC, IEEE, and client standards

2.     Coordinate with QA/QC to resolve non-conformities

3.     Implement corrective and preventive actions

Testing & Commissioning

1.     Supervise panel assembly and equipment installation

2.     Conduct/witness:

3.     Continuity tests

4.     Insulation Resistance (IR) tests

5.     Functional & interlock tests

6.     Prepare Inspection & Test Reports (ITRs)

Site Support

1.     Visit sites for installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting

2.     Coordinate with site/service teams and gather feedback

Learning & Development

1.     Stay updated on electrical standards and technologies (PLC, SCADA, IoT)

2.     Attend training on safety, quality systems, and tools
