About the Role
We are seeking a CCNA-certified Network Engineer with hands-on expertise in substation automation, protective relay configuration, and industrial SCADA/SAS communication networks. In this role, you will lead network setup, communication testing, relay-to-SCADA integration, and site commissioning to ensure seamless, reliable substation operations.
- Key Responsibilities Network Configuration & Support: Set up, configure, and troubleshoot IP networks, subnets, VLANs, routers, switches, and port configurations for substation environments.
- SCADA & Relay Integration: Configure and integrate Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs), protection relays, RTUs, and industrial gateways with SCADA systems.
- Protocol Implementation: Manage communication setups using industrial standards including IEC 61850, Modbus TCP/RTU, and IEC 60870-5-104.
- Site Commissioning: Lead on-site communication testing, diagnose connectivity issues, and execute relay-to-SCADA integration.
- Network Reliability: Maintain managed Ethernet switches, fiber-optic networks, redundancy protocols, and cybersecurity measures to ensure zero network downtime.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Certification: Active CCNA certification required.
- Network Engineering: Hands-on experience with IP addressing, routing, switching, VLANs, and network troubleshooting tools.
- Industrial Protocols: Solid working knowledge of IEC 61850, Modbus, and IEC 104.
- Automation Systems: Proven experience with IEDs, protection relays, RTUs, and SCADA/SAS integration.
- Preferred / Good-to-Have SkillsExperience with managed industrial Ethernet switches (e.g., RuggedCom, Moxa, Cisco IE) and fiber-optic media.
- Familiarity with network redundancy protocols (RSTP, PRP, HSR).
- Basic knowledge of industrial OT cybersecurity standards and network diagnostic tools (e.g., Wireshark).
Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills
Experience with managed industrial Ethernet switches (e.g., RuggedCom, Moxa, Cisco IE) and fiber-optic media.
- Familiarity with network redundancy protocols (RSTP, PRP, HSR).
- Basic knowledge of industrial OT cybersecurity standards and network diagnostic tools (e.g., Wireshark).
