Job Description
Role Purpose
The Business Development Executive is responsible for identifying, pursuing, and closing new consultancy and project management engagements for United Fins across its ten operating sectors. The role requires building a strong opportunity pipeline, translating client needs into scoped service offerings alongside technical teams, and driving revenue growth through client acquisition, proposal development, and contract negotiation.
Key Responsibilities
Market & Opportunity Identification
• Track upcoming projects, tenders, and capital investments across all ten sectors, including manufacturing plants, renewable energy installations, hospital builds, and mining leases.
• Monitor government schemes, subsidy programmes, and PPP tenders relevant to infrastructure, energy, and farming clients.
• Map competitor consultancies and identify white-space opportunities by sector.
Lead Generation & Client Acquisition
• Prospect enterprises, developers, manufacturers, and institutions requiring project management or advisory services.
• Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, including plant heads, CXOs, developers, and government liaisons.
• Represent United Fins at industry expos, trade fairs, and sector-specific forums such as agri-tech, manufacturing, and healthcare infrastructure events.
Solution Scoping & Proposal Development
• Collaborate with sector technical teams to translate client needs into scoped service offerings (e.g., EPC oversight, QMS implementation, cold chain design).
• Draft proposals, RFP responses, and pitch decks tailored to the relevant sector's service stack.
• Estimate project pricing and engagement models in coordination with technical and finance teams.
Deal Negotiation & Closing
• Negotiate consultancy contracts, retainer terms, and milestone-based fee structures.
• Coordinate legal and commercial review of service agreements and SLAs.
• Close deals in line with quarterly and annual revenue targets.
Cross-Sector Coordination
• Liaise between sales and each sector's technical delivery team to ensure proposals are deliverable and accurately scoped.
• Identify cross-sell opportunities across sectors, such as a mining client also requiring infrastructure or software/ERP services.
Strategic Partnerships
• Develop channel relationships with EPC contractors, equipment vendors, certification bodies, and industry associations.
• Support technology transfer and academic-industry partnership deals relevant to the Material Science and Software sectors.
Pipeline & Reporting
• Maintain an accurate CRM pipeline across all sector verticals.
• Report win rates, deal velocity, and sector-wise revenue contribution to leadership.
• Forecast quarterly business development targets and performance.
Key Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred).
• 3-7 years of experience in business development, B2B sales, or consultancy, ideally spanning multiple industries.
• Ability to grasp technical concepts across varied sectors, from agri-tech to nanotechnology to mining.
• Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfort managing long sales cycles and RFP/tender-based procurement common in infrastructure, energy, and government projects.
• Proficiency with CRM systems and proposal-writing tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel for client meetings, site visits, and industry events.
Key Performance Indicators
• Revenue generated and new client accounts won, by sector.
• Number of qualified leads converted to proposals and closed deals.
• Proposal-to-close conversion rate and average deal cycle time.
• Cross-sector referral and cross-sell revenue.
