Job Summary:

Castal Dies and Tools is seeking a skilled VMC (Vertical Machining Center) Machine Operator to set up, operate, and maintain VMC machines used in machining dies, moulds, and precision components. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge, hands-on experience with CNC/VMC operations, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.

• Key Responsibilities:
• Machine Operation & Setup Set up and operate VMC machines according to job requirements.
• Load programs, set tools, and adjust offsets as needed.
• Conduct trial runs and ensure job accuracy before full production.
• Programming & Tooling Understand and edit basic G-code programs if required.
• Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and attachments.
• Optimize machining parameters for efficiency and tool life.
• Quality Control Read and interpret engineering drawings, 2D/3D models, and process sheets.
• Perform in-process inspections using measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Dial Gauge, etc.).
• Ensure all components meet quality standards and tolerances.
• Maintenance & Safety Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the work area clean.
• Identify issues with machines or tools and report them immediately.
• Follow all safety protocols and company guidelines.
• Documentation & Reporting Maintain records of daily production activities.
• Coordinate with the production and quality teams to ensure smooth workflow.
• Qualifications & Skills:
• Education:ITI / Diploma in Mechanical / Tool & Die / Machining or related field.
• Experience:
• 2–5 years of experience as a VMC Machine Operator (preferably in die & mould manufacturing).
• Experience operating machines such as Fanuc, Siemens, or Mitsubishi controllers.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of VMC operation
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Familiarity with machining of steel, aluminium, and die materials.

• Working Conditions: Shift-based work may be required.
• Overtime may be available as per production needs.
