Job Title: Admission Counsellor

Job Summary

We are looking for a dynamic and result-oriented Admission Counsellor to guide prospective students and parents through the admission process. The candidate will be responsible for understanding students' academic and career goals, explaining suitable courses and programs, handling enquiries, following up with leads, and converting prospective students into successful admissions.

Key Responsibilities

• Contact prospective students through phone calls, WhatsApp, email, and other communication channels.
• Counsel students and parents regarding courses, colleges/institutes, eligibility criteria, career opportunities, fees, and admission procedures.
• Understand students' academic background, interests, and career goals and recommend suitable programs.
• Handle inbound and outbound calls and respond professionally to admission-related enquiries.
• Conduct one-to-one counselling sessions with students and parents.
• Follow up regularly with interested candidates and guide them through the complete admission and registration process.
• Convert qualified leads and enquiries into confirmed admissions/enrolments.
• Maintain accurate records of leads, counselling interactions, follow-ups, and admissions using CRM, MIS, or Google Sheets.
• Coordinate with academic, marketing, and admission teams to ensure a smooth student onboarding process.
• Maintain professional relationships with students and parents.
• Achieve assigned monthly counselling, conversion, and admission targets.

Required Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong counselling, convincing, and interpersonal skills.
• Good follow-up and lead-conversion abilities.
• Comfortable communicating with students and parents.
• Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with CRM/Excel/Google Sheets.
• Target-oriented and confident approach.
• Hindi and English communication skills are commonly preferred.

Eligibility

• Graduate or postgraduate qualification preferred, although requirements vary by employer.
• Freshers may be considered for some positions; other Apna listings ask for 6 months–2+ years of experience.
• Experience in education counselling, admissions, telesales, BPO/contact centres, or inside sales can be an advantage.

• Full-time
• Typically work-from-office, although some Admission Counsellor positions on Apna are remote.
