Import Manager

• Manage the end-to-end import process from shipment planning to final delivery.
• Handle and supervise all import documentation and customs clearance activities.
• Coordinate with CHA, shipping lines, freight forwarders, transporters, customs authorities and overseas suppliers.
• Review and verify Bill of Entry, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading/AWB, Certificate of Origin and other import documents.
• Monitor shipment schedules, ETA, clearance status and delivery timelines.
• Manage import costing, customs duty, freight, insurance, CHA charges and other related expenses.
• Ensure timely and accurate CHA billing and shipment-wise costing.
• Maintain proper records of import shipments, customs documents and clearance details.
• Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Customs regulations and applicable import procedures.
• Coordinate with the Accounts & Finance team for GST, TDS, vendor payments and import-related accounting.
• Verify import invoices and resolve documentation or billing discrepancies.
• Monitor demurrage, detention and other additional shipment-related costs and take necessary action to minimize them.
• Prepare and maintain MIS reports related to import shipments, costing, clearance and pending documentation.
• Manage and guide the import documentation team and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
• Resolve operational issues related to customs clearance, documentation and logistics.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable government regulations.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Import Documentation & Customs Clearance.
• Excellent knowledge of CHA procedures and Import Costing.
• Knowledge of Customs Duty, Bill of Entry and import compliance.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel and ERP/accounting software.
• Strong coordination, negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage multiple import shipments.
• Experience in Import-Export / Trading / Logistics industry preferred.
