Job Title: Accountant – Complete Accounts & Taxation

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Accountant who can independently manage the company’s complete accounting operations, GST compliance, income tax returns, financial records, and statutory filings. The candidate should have strong knowledge of taxation, bookkeeping, banking, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

1. Complete Accounting Management

• Maintain the company’s day-to-day accounts and financial records.
• Handle purchase bills, sales invoices, expenses, receipts, and payments.
• Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Perform bank reconciliation and vendor/customer ledger reconciliation.
• Maintain cash books, general ledgers, and balance sheets.
• Prepare monthly profit and loss statements and financial reports.
• Track outstanding payments and follow up on receivables.

2. GST Compliance & Filing

• Prepare and file monthly/quarterly GST returns, including GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B, as applicable.
• Reconcile sales, purchase records, GST input tax credit (ITC), and GSTR-2B.
• Ensure timely GST payments and maintain proper documentation.
• Handle e-invoicing and e-way bills, wherever applicable.
• Assist with GST notices, assessments, audits, and departmental queries.

3. Income Tax & TDS

• Prepare and coordinate the filing of the company’s Income Tax Return (ITR).
• Calculate advance tax and self-assessment tax, wherever applicable.
• Handle TDS calculations, payments, returns, and reconciliation.
• Prepare data and documents for tax audits and coordinate with the Chartered Accountant (CA), if required.
• Ensure timely compliance with applicable income tax rules and deadlines.

4. Inventory & Business Accounting

• Maintain stock and inventory accounting for garments and apparel.
• Reconcile physical stock with accounting and inventory records.
• Track product purchases, sales, returns, and stock adjustments.
• Monitor business expenses and identify discrepancies.

5. Banking & Financial Management

• Manage bank transactions and payment records.
• Prepare payment schedules for suppliers and other business expenses.
• Maintain accurate financial documentation for audits and verification.
• Prepare reports on cash flow, expenses, profitability, and outstanding balances.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• B.Com, M.Com, or equivalent qualification in accounting or finance.
• 3–5 years of hands-on accounting and taxation experience.
• Strong practical knowledge of GST, Income Tax, TDS, and statutory compliance.
• Proficiency in Tally Prime, Excel, and accounting software.
• Knowledge of e-invoicing, e-way bills, and bank reconciliation.
• Ability to manage accounts independently and meet statutory deadlines.
• Attention to detail, honesty, and strong organizational skills.

Preferred Candidate

A candidate who can handle the company’s complete accounts independently, maintain accurate books, complete routine GST and TDS filings, prepare income tax return data, and coordinate with the CA for finalization, audits, and complex tax matters.

Salary

Negotiable based on experience, accounting knowledge, and ability to handle the complete accounts independently.
