Account Executive (Accounting)

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT — CA FIRM, AHMEDABAD

Salary: Rs. 225000 p.a - 300000 p.a

Experience: 0-5 years (previous experience in a CA firm preferred and given more priority)

Qualification: B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / CMA Inter

Job type: Full time, on-site

Working hours: 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday to Saturday

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will independently handle a portfolio of client entities - from books to finalised financial statements and filed returns. This is not a data entry role. You close the books, prepare the schedules, and own the compliance calendar for your clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Finalisation of Accounts

- Independent finalisation for proprietorships, firms, LLPs and companies up to Balance Sheet stage

- Preparation of finalisation schedules: fixed assets and depreciation, debtors/creditors ageing, duties and taxes, capital account, provisions

- Year end entries - closing stock, depreciation, accruals, prepaid and outstanding expenses, provision for tax

- Bank, party and 26AS/AIS reconciliations with every difference cleared or explained

GST

- Monthly GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B workings and filing within due dates

- GSTR-2B vs purchase register reconciliation, ITC eligibility and 17(5) classification, vendor follow-up

- RCM computation, ITC reversals, e-invoice and e-way bill checks

- GSTR-9 and 9C reconciliation workings

TDS

- Correct section determination at the time of booking (194C, 194J, 194H, 194I, 194Q, 206C(1H))

- Monthly computation and deposit by 7th, quarterly 24Q/26Q/27Q filing

- TRACES default clearance, correction statements, Form 16/16A issuance

Reporting

- Fixed monthly reporting pack per client - MIS, pending documents, compliance status

- Same day escalation of exceptions

- Monthly KPI report in prescribed format

SKILLS REQUIRED

Tally Prime (advanced), MS Excel (lookups, pivots, reconciliation), GST portal, TRACES, Income Tax e-filing portal. Zoho Books and Winman/Computax preferred. Gujarati, Hindi and English.

- Deadlines planned backwards from the due date, with buffer

- Status reported before it is asked for

- Workings that a reviewer can sign off without reconstructing them

- Errors and delays disclosed immediately, not concealed

SELECTION PROCESS

Practical assessment - a Google form will be issued to selected candidates a trial balance to finalise, a GSTR-2B reconciliation, and a TDS applicability set.
