Clinical Nutrition Specialist

Job summary

We are looking for a qualified Clinical Nutritionist to join our clinic. You will assess patients’ nutritional needs, create personalised diet plans, and work with our doctors and care team to improve patient outcomes through evidence-based nutrition care.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients’ nutritional status using medical history, lab reports, diet recall, anthropometric measurements and lifestyle.
• Develop personalised diet and meal plans for conditions such as diabetes, obesity, hypertension, thyroid disorders, PCOS, kidney and liver conditions, cardiac conditions and digestive disorders.
• Provide nutrition counselling to patients and families on food choices, portion control, meal timing and behaviour change.
• Work with doctors, nurses and other specialists to align diet plans with treatment plans.
• Monitor patient progress, review results at follow-ups, and adjust plans as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and consultation notes.
• Run patient education sessions, workshops and awareness programmes.
• Prepare diet charts, handouts and educational material for patients.
• Follow clinic protocols, hygiene and data confidentiality standards.
• Keep up to date with current nutrition research and clinical guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Clinical Nutrition, Food Science or a related field.
• Completed internship or clinical training in a hospital or clinic.

Skills and competencies

• Strong knowledge of medical nutrition therapy (MNT) and diet planning.
• Strong counselling and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret basic lab reports and clinical data.
• Empathy, patience and a patient-first approach.
• Working knowledge of MS Office and clinic or EMR software.
• Proficiency in English and the local language(s).
