Job Description
program creation,blueprint analyisis,tool& material selection,testing&troubleshooting,quality assurance,collaboration & maintenanceRead and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D models to determine tooling requirements, machining sequences, speeds, feeds, and tolerances.
Generate G-code and M-code programs using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidCAM, NX, or Fusion 360) or manual programming methods.
Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, holders, and work-holding setups for optimal machining efficiency and tool life.
Perform virtual program simulations to detect collision risks, verify tool paths, and minimize cycle times prior to actual production.
Conduct initial setup and first-article dry runs on CNC machines to prove out new programs alongside operators.
Modify existing programs to correct dimensional errors, adapt to tooling changes, or improve cycle speed.
Collaborate with quality inspection teams to verify component dimensions using micrometers, calipers, and CMM inspection reports.
