Integrations you'll own

Environment: Linux + nginx, managed PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Git, Postman, REST/JSON plus some legacy XML/SOAP vendor APIs.

Responsibilities

Third-party integrations — the core of the job

Build and maintain vendor adapters end to end: search → quote/reprice → book/issue → cancel/refund. For insurance, the equivalent: quote → compare → proposal → policy issuance → renewal → claim intimation.

Normalise inconsistent vendor payloads into one internal shape — fares, taxes, baggage, seat maps, fare rules, cancellation policies; premiums, IDV, add-ons, policy terms.

Read vendor documentation critically and verify it against the live wire. Vendor docs are frequently wrong or stale; the trace is the source of truth.

Diagnose failures across the boundary: separate our payload bug from vendor outage, credential problem, or egress-IP block — and produce evidence either way for vendor escalation.

Money and correctness

Build agent-facing flows in Next.js: search, results, fare review, passenger/proposer details, checkout, booking list, cancellation.

Build admin and back-office screens: bookings, users, markup/commission config, ledger, supplier diagnostics, reports.

Build CRM/HRMS features: lead pipelines and assignment, follow-ups, quotations, attendance, leave, payroll, recruitment and onboarding, dashboards.

Keep long-running calls safe in the UI — some vendor calls run past two minutes; a user must never be told "failed" for a booking that succeeded.

Data & platform

Design and evolve schemas across both PostgreSQL/Prisma and MongoDB/Mongoose; write safe migrations against live databases.

Maintain search/booking/request-response logs used to reconcile our records against vendors'.

Build real-time features with Socket.IO and scheduled reconciliation jobs with node-cron.

Support the ongoing migration of legacy systems onto the current stack.

Requirements

4+ years building production web applications with Node.js/Express and React.

Strong with both relational and document databases — SQL schema design with an ORM (Prisma preferred) and MongoDB/Mongoose.

Real experience integrating third-party REST APIs: auth schemes, retries, timeouts, idempotency, webhooks and callbacks.

Comfortable debugging across the network boundary with logs, Postman and raw request/response traces.

Solid JavaScript fundamentals: async control flow, error handling, data transformation.

Experience with modern React — hooks, a server-state library (TanStack Query or similar), form + schema validation.

Git, and the discipline to work productively in codebases you did not write.

Good to Have

Domain experience in travel (GDS/aggregator APIs, IRCTC, hotel or bus aggregators) or insurance (IRDAI broking, motor/health policy issuance, POSP networks).

Payment gateway integration (Razorpay, PayU) and wallet/ledger systems.

Next.js App Router, Zustand, Tailwind CSS.

Redux-Saga (for the existing admin panel).

Socket.IO / real-time features and cron-driven reconciliation.

Ability to read and patch legacy PHP (CodeIgniter) during migration — not day-to-day work, but useful.

Basic Linux/nginx deployment and log triage.
