Civil and Structural Draughtsman

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Civil & Structural Draughtsman to prepare accurate and detailed civil and structural drawings for construction projects. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of AutoCAD, structural drafting, and reinforcement detailing.

Knowledge of RebarCAD and US structural design standards, particularly ACI codes, will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed civil and structural drawings based on engineering designs, calculations, and project requirements.
• Prepare reinforcement (rebar) shop drawings, including plans, sections, elevations, bar layouts, bending details, and bar schedules.
• Develop structural detailing drawings for foundations, footings, columns, beams, slabs, walls, stairs, retaining walls, and other structural elements.
• Interpret structural engineering drawings, design notes, specifications, and architectural drawings.
• Ensure drawings comply with project standards, structural details, dimensions, and applicable codes.
• Revise drawings based on engineer/architect comments, RFIs, and design changes.
• Perform drawing checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, proper dimensions, reinforcement placement, and detailing.
• Maintain proper drawing standards, layer management, naming conventions, and revision control.
• Prepare drawings suitable for construction and shop drawing submissions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in civil/structural drafting and detailing.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Good understanding of structural drawings and construction practices.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
• Good understanding of reinforcement detailing and rebar placement.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred / Additional Skills

• RebarCAD experience for reinforcement modeling and shop drawing preparation.
• Knowledge of ACI (American Concrete Institute) codes and US structural standards.
• Experience preparing US-based structural and rebar shop drawings.
• Familiarity with US construction terminology, detailing practices, and drawing standards.
• Experience with RFI responses, drawing revisions, and shop drawing coordination is a plus.

Desired Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented structural drafter who can understand engineering intent and convert structural designs into clear, accurate, and constructible drawings. Candidates with experience in US projects, ACI-based detailing, and RebarCAD will be given preference.
