We are looking for an experienced and operationally strong Unit Head to manage the full day-to-day operations of Azad Mithai's Sanand GIDC manufacturing facility. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility across three business verticals -- Sweets, Frozen Snacks, and Industrial Catering. The Unit Head will oversee production, quality, staffing, compliance, MIS reporting, and profitability, and marketing & sales growth for the entire unit. This role reports directly to the Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Sweets & Snacks Production -- Oversee daily production of traditional sweets and frozen snacks - planning, scheduling, output targets, and team supervision

2. Quality Control - Frozen & Sweets -- Implement and maintain quality standards for all frozen food and sweet products; FSSAI & export compliance

3. Industrial Catering Operations -- Oversee catering division - production, dispatch, client satisfaction, cost control, and coordination with Catering Manager

4. MIS & Division-wise Reporting -- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly MIS for all three divisions - production, cost, quality, and revenue data

5. Overall Factory Day-to-Day Operations -- Full ownership of plant operations - utilities, maintenance, hygiene, safety, vendor coordination, and shift management

6. Staff Management & Productivity -- Hire, train, schedule, and evaluate production staff across all divisions; drive output efficiency and discipline

7. Inventory & Raw Material Control -- Oversee procurement planning, raw material stock, finished goods inventory, and wastage minimisation

8. Cost Control & Profitability -- Track food cost, operating cost, and overheads across all divisions; flag variances and drive margin improvement

9. FSSAI & Compliance -- Ensure factory operates in full compliance with FSSAI Central License requirements, hygiene standards, and export regulations

10. Machinery & Infrastructure -- Coordinate with maintenance team on equipment upkeep, breakdown response, and preventive maintenance schedules

11. Client & Vendor Coordination -- Liaise with key clients for quality feedback; manage supplier relationships for raw material supply and pricing

12. Marketing & Sales - All Verticals -- Drive marketing and sales initiatives across all three divisions - sweets retail, frozen export, and industrial catering; coordinate campaigns, client outreach, and brand visibility

13. Reporting to Director -- Daily operational briefings and monthly performance reviews directly with the Director of Azad Mithai Pvt. Ltd.

ELIGIBILITY & EXPERIENCE

*  Minimum 5-8 years in food manufacturing operations -- mandatory

*  Prior experience in sweets, snacks, or frozen food production strongly preferred

*  Exposure to multi-division or multi-product factory operations is a strong plus

*  Knowledge of FSSAI Central License compliance and food safety systems

*  Strong hands-on experience in team management -- 15+ people

*  Proficiency in MIS / Excel reporting -- daily and monthly formats

*  Experience in cost tracking and P&L understanding at unit level

*  Knowledge of frozen food handling, cold chain, and MAP packaging is an advantage

*  Good communication in Gujarati and Hindi; basic English preferred

*  Degree/diploma in Food Technology, Hotel Management, or Operations Management preferred

WORKING HOURS & CONDITIONS

Working Hours: Early morning to late night -- the Unit Head is expected to be on-site from the first shift start until all operations, dispatch, and reporting are completed for the day. Hours will vary based on production volume and operational requirements.

 

Leave Policy: No leaves will be permitted during peak production seasons, festival periods, and high-demand periods -- Diwali, Navratri, Holi, Eid, New Year and all major gifting seasons. This is a high-responsibility role and the Unit Head presence on the floor is mandatory during all critical business periods. Regular leave cycles will apply during off-season months only.
