Commodity Buyer - Purchasing and Supplier Development

Job Description

This Job Role is part of the Job Family "Purchasing & Supplier Development" / Sub Job Family "PS Purchasing" and includes jobs focused on planning, processing, and managing all purchasing activities to ensure the Key Business organization receives the necessary materials, parts, semi-products, and services.

The main tasks of the Job Role "Buyer" are sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials and services to ensure cost efficiency. This role follows procurement strategies, optimizes processes and supports business goals.

What you can look forward to as Commodity Buyer:

 Define and execute commodity strategy for forged and machined components
Lead RFQ sourcing activities for new business, cost down, and localization
Negotiate pricing, tooling, capacity, and long-term agreements

Manage supplier QCD performance,  Conduct audits, capacity and risk assessments

Drive year-on-year cost reduction initiatives, Support VA/VE and design-to-cost activities
Work with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and Logistics
Support customer cost reviews, audits, and warranty reduction,  Identify single-source and capacity risks,  Develop dual sourcing and mitigation plans

Your Profile:

Strong knowledge of forging and machining processes
Understanding of drawings, GD&T, and automotive standards (IATF 16949, AIAG)
Advanced negotiation and stakeholder management skills, Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical

SAP or equivalent ERP, Advanced Excel, Power BI

 Annual cost reduction achievement, Supplier quality PPM and on-time delivery, APQP and SOP adherence
