Quality Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

·      Conduct quality inspection of incoming raw materials such as MDF, plywood, laminates, hardware, edge bands and other furniture components.

·      Inspect raw materials against approved specifications, dimensions, quality standards and purchase requirements.

·      Perform quality checks at different stages of the production line.

·      Check dimensions, cutting accuracy, edge banding, drilling, CNC machining, joints, hardware fitting and assembly quality.

·      Conduct final inspection of finished furniture before packing and dispatch.

·      Identify and document defects, rejection, rework and quality deviations.

·      Coordinate with Production to ensure timely rectification of quality issues.

·      Monitor recurring defects and identify their root causes.

·      Ensure production teams follow approved quality standards, drawings, specifications and work instructions.

·      Maintain quality inspection reports, rejection reports and checklists.

·      Ensure proper segregation and identification of rejected/non-conforming materials and products.

·      Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

·      Coordinate with Purchase and Stores regarding rejected or non-conforming raw materials.

·      Continuously work towards reducing rejection, rework and material wastage.

Required Skills

·      Good knowledge of furniture manufacturing processes and materials.

·      Understanding of MDF, plywood, laminates, veneer, hardware and edge-banding materials.

·      Knowledge of CNC, Beam Saw, Edge Banding, drilling and furniture assembly processes.

·      Strong attention to detail and inspection skills.

·      Ability to read and understand technical/production drawings.

·      Good problem-solving and communication skills.

·      Basic knowledge of quality documentation and reporting.

Ideal Candidate: A hands-on Quality Supervisor with strong knowledge of furniture manufacturing who can independently monitor quality from raw material receipt through production to final dispatch and ensure consistent product quality.
