Cylindrical grinding focuses on removing material from rotational components to achieve perfect roundness, diameter accuracy, and concentricity.

Workholding Setup: Mounting parts securely between centers (using a driving dog) or within a chuck or collet. Misalignment between the headstock and tailstock creates an unwanted taper.Taper and Offset Adjustment: Offsetting the upper table, headstock, or wheel head to grind specific tapered geometries.Process Multi-Tasking: Executing both Outer Diameter (OD) grinding on shafts and Inner Diameter (ID) grinding inside bores or holes.

Surface grinding focuses on generating flat, uniform planes by traversing a grinding wheel across a moving linear table.Coordinating the longitudinal crossfeed (back-and-forth) with the downfeed increments to clear material evenly across the entire flat area.
