Job Description
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Fitter responsible for the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of mechanical equipment and machinery to ensure safe and reliable plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery and mechanical equipment.
Carry out cutting, welding, fabrication, fitting, and alignment work as required.
Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain gearboxes, pumps, bearings, EOT cranes, cooling towers, furnaces, and other mechanical equipment.
Identify different types of bearings and ensure correct installation, lubrication, and replacement.
Conduct routine inspection and maintenance of EOT cranes, including mechanical components.
Maintain and troubleshoot cooling towers, industrial pumps, and furnace-related mechanical systems.
Support maintenance activities related to the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP).
Understand and implement preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance practices.
Monitor equipment condition and identify early signs of mechanical failure.
Handle and work safely around industrial chemicals while following required safety procedures.
Maintain maintenance records and report equipment abnormalities or recurring breakdowns.
Follow all plant safety, PPE, permit-to-work, and housekeeping procedures.
Required Skills & Knowledge
3–5 years of experience in mechanical/plant maintenance.
Hands-on experience in cutting, welding, fitting, and fabrication.
Good knowledge of gearboxes, bearings, pumps, EOT cranes, cooling towers, and furnaces.
Basic understanding of ETP equipment and maintenance.
Knowledge of preventive vs. predictive maintenance techniques.
Ability to use basic mechanical tools and measuring instruments.
Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Awareness of chemical handling and industrial safety.
Education
ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or Fitter trade preferred.
Safety
The candidate must strictly follow workplace safety procedures and use appropriate PPE while performing maintenance, welding, chemical-handling, and equipment-related activities.
