Quality Manager – Automotive Manufacturing Location: Pune

Industry: Automotive Components / Sheet Metal Manufacturing

Qualification: BE/B.Tech/Diploma – Mechanical / Production / Automobile

RoleWe are looking for an experienced Quality Manager to independently lead the complete Quality function, including Plant Quality, Customer Quality, IATF/QMS, Audits, PPAP/APQP, Supplier Quality and the Quality team.

The candidate must have strong shop-floor and automotive manufacturing experience and should be capable of handling customers independently.

• Key ResponsibilitiesLead complete Incoming, In-Process and Final Quality activities.
• Manage and develop the plant Quality team.
• Handle customer complaints, 8D, RCA, CAPA and customer audits independently.
• Drive reduction in Customer PPM, internal rejection, rework and repeat complaints.
• Own IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 QMS, internal audits, process audits and certification/customer audits.
• Lead APQP & PPAP activities for new product development through SOP.
• Strong working knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA, Cp/Cpk and 7 QC Tools.
• Ensure process controls, First Piece Approval, traceability and product conformity on the shop floor.
• Manage supplier quality issues and corrective actions.
• Ensure calibration and proper control of gauges, fixtures and measuring instruments.
• Drive structured problem-solving, Poka-Yoke and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate closely with Production, Development, Tooling, Purchase and Management.
• Authority to hold production/dispatch in case of significant quality risk.

Preferred ExperienceCandidates with experience in Automotive Sheet Metal Stamping, Press Parts, Welding/Fabricated Assemblies and Exhaust Components will be strongly preferred.

Experience dealing directly with Tier-1 / OEM automotive customers is highly desirable.
