Grinding Operator

Job Summary:

We are looking for experienced Grinding Operators to perform grinding, finishing, and surface preparation activities on structural steel components. The candidate should be familiar with hand grinders, angle grinders, and other finishing tools used in fabrication shops.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate angle grinders, hand grinders, and other grinding equipment safely and efficiently.
• Remove excess weld material, burrs, slag, rust, and sharp edges from fabricated components.
• Prepare surfaces for welding, painting, galvanizing, or further fabrication processes.
• Perform finishing work as per quality and project specifications.
• Inspect finished components for surface quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Ensure proper handling and maintenance of grinding tools and equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE during grinding operations.
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping in the work area.

Requirements

• 2 to 10 years of experience in grinding and finishing work in structural fabrication, heavy engineering, or manufacturing industries.
• Experience in grinding structural steel components, weld joints, plates, beams, columns, channels, and fabricated assemblies.
• Knowledge of grinding wheels, cutting discs, and finishing tools.
• Ability to identify surface defects and perform corrective grinding.
• Understanding of workplace safety practices and equipment handling.

Preferred Candidate

• ProfileSSC (10th Pass) – Mandatory
• ITI (Fitter, Welder, Turner, Machinist, or relevant trade) – Preferred
• Experience in Structural Steel Fabrication, PEB, Heavy Engineering, EPC, Construction, or Manufacturing Industries.
