ProjectGPayLocationPatna / ChennaiRole TypeFull-time | Field-basedReporting ToBusiness Development ManagerMaximum CTC₹30,000 per month (maximum)Job PurposeTo manage and grow an assigned portfolio of existing GPay merchants through structured field visits, merchant engagement, transaction growth, issue resolution and adoption of value-added services (VAS), including Soundpod and Goldie. The FOS will act as the ground-level owner for the assigned merchant portfolio, focusing on merchant activity, retention and overall portfolio health.

Key ResponsibilitiesMerchant Relationship Management

• Manage an assigned portfolio of approximately 200–300 merchant IDs (MIDs), subject to merchant density and travel feasibility.
• Build regular engagement with merchants and understand their business needs, payment experience and transaction-related challenges.
• Plan field visits using merchant priority lists and the information available in NetOne.

Merchant Activation & Transaction Growth

• Monitor merchant activity and TPV (Total Payment Value) trends using available system data.
• Prioritise inactive, declining and D-cohort/Red merchants for recovery and reactivation.
• Work to improve transaction activity, merchant retention and movement across A/B/C/D merchant health cohorts.

Issue Resolution & Merchant Support

• Identify and address merchant concerns relating to payment acceptance, devices and operational issues.
• Coordinate with relevant support teams for unresolved issues and ensure timely follow-up.
• Record issue status, resolution and any further action required.

VAS Opportunities & Adoption

• Identify suitable merchants for Soundpod and Goldie opportunities.
• Explain relevant product benefits, generate interest and follow through on conversion and adoption.
• Update opportunity status and outcomes in NetOne.

Field Execution & NetOne Reporting

• Execute planned merchant visits and ensure each interaction has a documented outcome.
• Update visit history, merchant observations, issues, opportunities, next action and revisit date in NetOne.
• Maintain accurate records and follow the agreed operating cadence and review process.
• Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Merchant coverage and unique merchants visited.
• Field productivity and repeat merchant interactions.
• Improvement in TPV, transaction activity and active merchant rate.
• Reduction in inactive merchants and improvement in merchant health cohorts.
• Issue follow-up and resolution.
• Soundpod and Goldie opportunities, sales/adoption and activity.
• Timely and accurate NetOne updates and next-action tracking.

Note: Specific numeric targets and incentive slabs will be communicated by the business team.

• Candidate Profile & EligibilityGraduate preferred.
• Experience in field sales, merchant relationship management, UPI/QR payments, fintech, merchant acquiring, banking or retail field operations will be preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Comfortable with extensive field travel and regular visits to retail merchants.
• Basic smartphone/application skills and disciplined reporting.
• Self-motivated, target-oriented, organised and capable of independent field execution.
• Knowledge of local markets in Patna or Chennai will be an advantage.

Role ExpectationsThe FOS is expected to take ownership of merchant engagement and portfolio outcomes—not merely complete visits. Success will be assessed through merchant activity, retention, issue resolution, portfolio health and VAS adoption.

Preference: Candidates who have managed existing merchants, driven transaction growth, handled merchant issues or sold payment-related products.

Minimum Eligibility

• Education: Minimum 12th Pass; Graduate preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant field sales or merchant-facing experience.
• Age: Preferably 21–35 years.
• Skills: Good communication, relationship management, problem-solving and basic smartphone/application handling.
• Field Readiness: Must be comfortable with daily market visits and travelling within the assigned territory.
• Language: Local language proficiency and basic Hindi; basic English is an advantage.
• Location: Candidates based in or familiar with the local market of Patna or Chennai will be preferred.
