MIG Welding Fabricator

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform MIG welding on MS/SS parts, frames, brackets and structures as per drawings and work instructions.
• Use ARC welding as secondary processes wherever specified.
• Carry out fit-up, tack welding and final welding of assemblies using jigs and fixtures.
• Read and understand basic fabrication drawings and weld symbols related to the job.
• Check joint preparation, edge preparation, dimensions and alignment before starting welding.
• Maintain required weld quality – avoiding defects like cracks, porosity, undercut, lack of fusion and excessive spatter.
• Use grinders and basic hand tools for edge preparation, weld finishing and cleaning.
• Follow all safety rules and PPE requirements – welding helmet, gloves, safety shoes, apron, goggles, etc.
• Handle and maintain welding machines, gas cylinders, cables, torches and tools in proper working condition.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area as per 5S / housekeeping standards.
• Coordinate with the Production Supervisor / Fabrication In-charge for daily job planning and priorities.
• Report any material issues, machine problems or quality concerns immediately to the supervisor.
