Job Title: Senior Business Development Executive – Waaree Solar Energy Solutions

Location: Kadapa, Kurnool, Vizag, Rajahmundry

Role Summary:

The Senior Business Development Executive will drive strategic growth by identifying new business opportunities, building long-term client relationships, and expanding Waaree Solar’s market presence. This role requires deep industry knowledge, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to lead high-value deals from prospecting to closure.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Business Growth

Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with company goals

Identify new market segments (C&I, government, utility-scale, EPC contracts)

Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and policy changes in the solar sector

Create and manage a strong pipeline of prospective clients and projects


2. Client Acquisition & Relationship Management

Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers (CXOs, plant heads, procurement teams)

Lead client meetings, presentations, and technical-commercial discussions

Understand client energy needs and propose customized solar solutions

Ensure high client satisfaction and retention through continuous engagement


3. Deal Structuring & Closure

Lead negotiations for high-value contracts (CAPEX / OPEX / PPA models)

Collaborate with finance and legal teams on pricing, contracts, and risk assessment

Drive end-to-end sales cycle from lead generation to contract signing

Achieve and exceed revenue and margin targets


4. Partnerships & Alliances

Identify and develop partnerships with EPC contractors, consultants, channel partners, and government bodies

Build alliances for project execution, financing, and market expansion

Represent the company in industry events, exhibitions, and conferences


5. Cross-functional Collaboration

Work closely with engineering, project management, and operations teams for proposal development

Coordinate with marketing for campaigns, lead generation, and brand positioning

Support project execution teams during handover and initial phases


6. Reporting & Performance Tracking

Maintain accurate sales forecasts, CRM data, and pipeline reports

Provide regular updates to senior management on business performance

Monitor KPIs such as conversion rates, deal size, and customer acquisition cost


Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (MBA preferred)

5–10+ years of experience in business development/sales in renewable energy, solar, EPC, or infrastructure sectors

Proven track record of closing large commercial or industrial deals


Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong understanding of solar energy systems, policies, and regulatory frameworks

Expertise in B2B sales, consultative selling, and solution-based approach

Excellent negotiation and contract management skills

Financial acumen (ROI, IRR, payback analysis for solar projects)

Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills

Ability to work independently and lead initiatives


Preferred Experience:

Experience with rooftop solar, ground-mounted, or utility-scale projects

Knowledge of government incentives, net metering, and renewable policies in India

Existing network in industrial/commercial sectors


KPIs / Performance Metrics:

Revenue generation and deal closure rate

Pipeline value and conversion ratio

Customer acquisition and retention

Average deal size and project profitability

Market expansion and partnership development
