Main Duties and Responsibilities of Housekeeping Staff

1. Cleaning Guest Rooms / Assigned Areas

Clean and sanitize rooms, bathrooms, corridors, and public areas

Make beds and change linens

Dust furniture, vacuum carpets, and mop floors

Replenish toiletries, towels, and room supplies

2. Maintaining Hygiene Standards

Follow cleanliness and sanitation procedures

Use cleaning chemicals safely

Dispose of waste properly

Ensure rooms are odor-free and hygienic

3. Reporting Maintenance Issues

Inform supervisors about damaged items or repairs needed

Report malfunctioning lights, AC, plumbing, TV, or furniture

4. Handling Laundry and Linen

Collect used linens and towels

Arrange laundry services if required

Maintain linen inventory and storage

5. Guest Service Support

Respond politely to guest requests

Deliver extra pillows, towels, or amenities

Ensure guest comfort and privacy

6. Following Safety Procedures

Follow fire and safety regulations

Handle equipment carefully

Ensure cleaning tools are properly stored

7. Inventory and Supplies Management

Maintain stock of cleaning materials and guest supplies

Inform supervisors when supplies are low
