Job Description

Role Summary:


The Trainee – Accountant is responsible for supporting UK clients with statutory financial statement preparation, year-end accounting activities, bookkeeping, VAT and payroll reconciliations, and day-to-day accounting support. The role requires a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, financial accounting, and tax compliance while ensuring timely and accurate client deliverables.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate strong Bookkeeping (BK) and Personal Tax Return (PTR) concepts to identify risks, process gaps, and compliance issues.
  • Perform year-end accounting and tax close activities, including reconciliations and adjustment entries.
  • Support the preparation and review of trial balances, general ledger mapping, and account analysis.
  • Assist in day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including:
  • Journal entries
  • Accruals and deferrals
  • Bank and ledger reconciliations
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve year-end open items and client queries.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to accounting standards and internal processes.
  • Support the delivery of high-quality financial information within agreed timelines.

Education, Skills & Experience


  • Educational QualificationB.Com / M.Com
  • CA Inter or equivalent qualification (Preferred)
  • Experience1.5–2 years of experience in Indian Accounting
  • Technical SkillsStrong knowledge of Indian Accounting principles
  • Good understanding of Bookkeeping (BK) and Personal Tax Return (PTR) concepts
  • Hands-on experience in:
  • Year-End Close
  • Bookkeeping
  • Financial Accounting
  • Understanding of tax compliance processes
  • Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Soft SkillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact confidently with clients on a daily basis

Work Model


  • Initial 6 months: Work From Office (WFO)
  • Post 6 months: Hybrid work model, based on business requirements
  • Shift Timings Training Period11:00 AM IST – 8:30 PM IST
  • Post Training Indian Summer: 12:30 PM IST – 10:00 PM IST
  • Indian Winter: 1:30 PM IST – 11:00 PM IST
  • Training Period Duration: 3 Months
  • Ideal Candidate ProfileB.Com/M.Com graduate with 1.5–2 years of Indian Accounting experience.
  • Good understanding of bookkeeping, year-end accounting, and financial reconciliations.
  • Familiarity with BK/PTR concepts and tax compliance.
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent Excel skills.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to work collaboratively in a client-facing environment.
  • Willing to work in a UK accounting environment and adapt to evening shifts.
