Job Description

The Testing Engineer / Sr. Testing Engineer (Electronics & Electrical Department) role involves testing electrical and electronic products to ensure they meet required standards and safety regulations.


Job Responsibilities Explained

1. Conduct Testing of Products

Perform electrical, safety, and performance tests on products.

Verify that products comply with Indian and international standards.

Use testing instruments and laboratory equipment accurately.

2. Work on Standards (IS 13252, IS 616, IS 62368)

Test products according to specific BIS standards:

IS 13252 – Safety requirements for IT and electronic equipment.

IS 616 – Safety requirements for audio/video equipment.

IS 62368 – Safety standard for audio, video, information, and communication technology equipment.

Ensure products meet all required parameters of these standards.

3. Analyze Test Results and Prepare Reports

Record test observations and measurements.

Analyze whether the product passes or fails.

Prepare detailed technical reports for clients and certification authorities.

4. Stay Updated with BIS/NABL/TEC Regulations

Monitor updates in:

BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards)

NABL (National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories)

TEC (Telecommunication Engineering Centre)

Follow the latest testing procedures and compliance requirements.

5. Maintain ISO/IEC 17025 Laboratory Practices

Follow laboratory quality management procedures.

Ensure proper documentation, calibration records, and test traceability.

Support audits and accreditation activities.

6. Operate and Maintain Testing Equipment

Handle instruments such as:

Multimeters

Oscilloscopes

Power analyzers

Safety test equipment

Environmental test equipment

Report equipment issues and ensure proper calibration.


Skills Required

Diploma/B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.

Knowledge of electrical and electronics fundamentals.

Understanding of BIS, NABL, TEC, and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.

Ability to prepare technical reports and use testing instruments.

Attention to detail and analytical skills.
