MIG Welder

A MIG Arc Welder is a skilled trade professional who joins, fabricates, and repairs metal components using Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW/Arc). They operate equipment, read blueprints, and ensure all structural welds meet industry strength and quality standards.

Core Responsibilities

• Equipment Setup: Calibrate welding machines, adjust wire feed speed, amperage, voltage, and gas flow rates for optimal welding.
• Material Preparation: Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings to plan welding operations.
• Welding Execution: Perform structural and precision MIG and Arc welding in various positions (flat, horizontal, overhead).
• Quality Assurance: Inspect welds for defects, cracks, or porosity, and ensure they meet exact client or industry specifications.
• Maintenance & Safety: Keep work areas clean, perform routine tool maintenance, and strictly adhere to OSHA (or local) safety protocols and wear proper PPE.
