Continental Cook

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day kitchen operations and ensure smooth service.
• Prepare food as per Kinion Cafe’s recipes, SOPs and presentation standards.
• Maintain consistency in taste, portion size and plating.
• Ensure food preparation is completed on time during peak hours.
• Manage kitchen inventory, stock levels and daily requirements.
• Monitor food wastage and control food costs.
• Maintain proper hygiene, cleanliness and food safety standards.
• Train and supervise kitchen staff.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of raw materials.
• Coordinate with the café manager for daily requirements and operational issues.
• Assist in developing and testing new menu items.
• Maintain recipe cards, preparation processes and kitchen SOPs.
• Check the quality and freshness of incoming ingredients.
• Ensure minimum wastage through proper preparation and storage.
• Handle customer feedback related to food quality and take corrective action.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of relevant kitchen experience.
• Experience in café, QSR, restaurant or similar food-service operations.
• Good knowledge of Indian, Continental and café-style food preparation.
• Ability to work efficiently during busy service hours.
• Strong understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
• Good team-management and communication skills.
• Ability to follow and implement recipes and SOPs.
• Cost-conscious approach towards ingredients and wastage.
• Willingness to take ownership of the kitchen rather than only cooking.

Preferred

• Experience in a growing café/QSR brand.
• Experience with menu development and recipe standardisation.
• Knowledge of food costing and inventory management.
• Ability to train junior kitchen staff.
• Basic understanding of FSSAI and food safety practices.
