Position SummaryThe Senior Accounts Manager will be responsible for overseeing the complete accounting and financial operations of the construction company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, cash flow management, project-wise accounting, vendor payments, and coordination with auditors, banks, and government authorities. The role requires strong knowledge of construction industry accounting, taxation, project costing, and financial controls.

  • Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Accounting & ReportingManage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate bookkeeping.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Maintain General Ledger, Trial Balance, and Balance Sheet schedules.
  • Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely month-end and year-end closures.
  • Project & Cost AccountingMaintain project-wise accounting records and profitability analysis.
  • Track project budgets, costs, revenues, and cash flows.
  • Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) and project completion status.
  • Analyze cost overruns and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare project MIS reports for management.
  • Taxation & ComplianceEnsure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, Labour Cess, and other statutory requirements.
  • Review and file GST returns, TDS returns, and other regulatory filings.
  • Coordinate with tax consultants and auditors.
  • Handle assessments, notices, and departmental inquiries.
  • Cash Flow & Treasury ManagementPrepare and monitor cash flow forecasts.
  • Manage banking relationships and fund requirements.
  • Oversee vendor payments, subcontractor payments, and employee reimbursements.
  • Monitor working capital and project funding requirements.
  • Vendor & Contract ManagementVerify contractor and vendor bills as per contractual terms.
  • Monitor retention amounts, advances, and security deposits.
  • Ensure proper documentation and approvals for all payments.
  • Reconcile vendor and subcontractor accounts regularly.
  • Audit & Internal ControlsCoordinate statutory, internal, and tax audits.
  • Develop and implement financial controls and accounting policies.
  • Ensure compliance with company SOPs and financial procedures.
  • Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation measures.
  • Team ManagementLead and supervise the accounts team.
  • Allocate responsibilities and review team performance.
  • Train and mentor junior accounting staff.
  • Ensure timely completion of all accounting activities.
  • Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com).
  • CA / CMA / MBA Finance preferred.
  • 8–12 years of accounting and finance experience.
  • Minimum 3–5 years in a senior role within the construction, infrastructure, or real estate sector.
  • Required SkillsStrong knowledge of construction accounting and project costing.
  • Expertise in GST, TDS, Income Tax, and statutory compliances.
  • Proficiency in Tally ERP, Busy, SAP, or other accounting software.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Timely completion of monthly financial reports.
  • Accuracy of project-wise cost reporting.
  • Compliance with statutory filing deadlines.
  • Cash flow optimization and working capital management.
  • Reduction in audit observations and accounting discrepancies.
  • Timely vendor and subcontractor payment processing.
  • Effective management of finance team performance.
