About AMYLO

BPC Bioproducts Private Limited (Tradename AMYLO) is a Bengaluru-based bioplastics company developing sustainable and cost-effective alternatives to conventional plastics for packaging applications.

Our technology focuses on bio-based and compostable materials designed to work with conventional plastic-processing equipment. AMYLO's R&D has been supported by the Indian Institute of Science startup ecosystem and the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP).

As we move from R&D towards commercialization, we are have our pilot manufacturing facility in Nelamangala and are looking for a reliable and responsible Office Assistant / Office Attendant to support the day-to-day cleanliness, pantry, basic material organisation and general upkeep of our office and plant premises.

Job Summary

The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across the office, pantry, toilets and designated plant/shed areas, supporting refreshments, handling basic office and housekeeping supplies, assisting with meetings, managing routine waste disposal and carrying out approved local purchases and errands.

The role requires a responsible, punctual, physically active and trustworthy person who can independently maintain the premises in a clean and organised condition.

Key Responsibilities

1. Office Opening & Daily Preparation

  • Open and prepare the office/plant premises before employees arrive, as instructed.
  • Switch on required lights, fans/AC and other essential equipment.
  • Ensure office, meeting areas, pantry, toilets and common areas are clean and ready.
  • Sweep, mop and clean designated office and floor areas.
  • Check availability of drinking water and basic essentials.
  • Check toilets and ensure they are clean, dry and adequately supplied.
  • Report any leakage, electrical issue, plumbing problem, damage or safety concern immediately.

2. Housekeeping & Cleanliness

  • Sweep and mop office floors and designated industrial-shed areas.
  • Clean tables, chairs, desks and other accessible surfaces.
  • Dust windows, doors, partitions, shelves and commonly used areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness of reception, waiting and meeting areas.
  • Clean toilets, wash basins and mirrors.
  • Empty dustbins regularly and maintain cleanliness around waste collection areas.
  • Remove cobwebs and accumulated dust from accessible areas.
  • Keep cleaning materials and equipment clean and properly stored.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the entrance and immediate surrounding areas.

3. Plant / Industrial Shed Housekeeping

  • Sweep and maintain designated areas around machinery and equipment.
  • Remove dust and maintain clear walkways and access areas.
  • Keep areas around machinery and electrical panels free from unnecessary materials.
  • Clean accessible external surfaces of machinery only when instructed.
  • Report oil/water leakage, unusual dirt accumulation, loose wires, damage or other abnormalities.
  • Do not open machinery or electrical panels or touch moving, hot or electrically active equipment.
  • Follow all plant safety instructions.

4. Pantry & Refreshments

  • Prepare and serve tea/coffee approximately at 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the pantry.
  • Wash and properly store cups, plates and utensils.
  • Clean the kettle/coffee machine and pantry counters after use.
  • Maintain adequate stock of tea, coffee, sugar, milk/milk powder, biscuits, drinking water, cups, tissues and other approved refreshments.
  • Check pantry stock regularly and inform the responsible person before essential items run out.
  • Check expiry dates of stored food items and report/remove expired items as instructed.

5. Office & Housekeeping Supplies

  • Monitor basic stock of cleaning materials, toiletries, stationery, pantry items and drinking water.
  • Maintain a simple list of frequently used consumables.
  • Inform the responsible person when stock reaches the required reorder level.
  • Prepare purchase lists when instructed.
  • Keep purchased items properly arranged in their designated locations.

6. Local Purchasing & Errands

  • Purchase approved office, pantry, housekeeping and other essential items from nearby vendors/shops when required.
  • Collect bills/invoices/receipts for purchases.
  • Submit bills and receipts to the responsible person.
  • Assist with routine local errands and collection/delivery activities when instructed.
  • Handle company purchases and materials responsibly.

7. Storage & Material Organisation

  • Keep storage areas, shelves and housekeeping-material areas clean and organised.
  • Arrange commonly used items systematically.
  • Return materials to their designated locations after use.
  • Do not move, discard or dispose of R&D samples, pellets, raw materials, chemicals or production materials without approval.

8. Meeting & Conference Support

  • Keep conference/meeting areas clean and properly arranged.
  • Arrange chairs, tables and drinking water when required.
  • Serve tea/coffee or refreshments during meetings when instructed.
  • Assist with setting up the meeting/presentation area.
  • Help coordinate with authorised personnel regarding projector/TV or other meeting equipment when required.
  • Clean and reset the room after meetings.

9. Waste Management

  • Collect garbage from office, pantry, toilets and designated shed areas.
  • Empty dustbins regularly and maintain clean bins.
  • Segregate waste according to the company's waste-management system.
  • Move general waste to the designated collection/disposal area.
  • Coordinate with waste collection personnel when required.
  • Ensure garbage does not accumulate inside the office or plant.
  • Report any waste requiring special handling.
  • Do not dispose of chemicals, R&D samples, pellets, raw materials or industrial materials without approval.

10. External Cleaning / Premises Upkeep

  • Maintain cleanliness of the entrance and designated external areas.
  • Water/clean dusty floor areas where required.
  • Keep walkways and commonly used areas free from unnecessary waste or obstruction.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and presentable plant and office environment.

11. Office Equipment & Electronics

  • Keep computers, printers, monitors, projectors, fans, ACs and other office equipment clean and dust-free externally.
  • Ensure common office equipment is switched off after use when instructed.
  • Report malfunction or damage immediately.
  • Coordinate with authorised technicians/vendors when instructed.
  • Do not repair, dismantle or open electrical/electronic equipment.

12. End-of-Day Closing

  • Clean and reset office, pantry and common areas.
  • Wash and store pantry utensils.
  • Empty bins where required.
  • Check that taps are closed.
  • Switch off lights, fans, AC and other non-essential equipment as instructed.
  • Check designated doors and windows.
  • Ensure pantry and office areas are orderly.
  • Lock designated doors/gates as instructed.
  • Report any unusual issue before leaving.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 10th standard / SSLC preferred.
  • Previous experience as an Office Boy, Office Assistant, Housekeeping Assistant, Plant Helper, Attendant or similar role is preferred.
  • Should be punctual, reliable, honest and responsible.
  • Should be comfortable working in an industrial plant / shed environment.
  • Should be physically fit and comfortable with routine cleaning, housekeeping and material-handling activities.
  • Basic ability to read/write and maintain simple lists is preferred.
  • Should be able to communicate politely with employees, visitors, vendors and service personnel.
  • Should be willing to perform local purchasing and routine errands when required.
  • Ability to independently manage daily housekeeping responsibilities will be an advantage.

Important Requirements

  • Maintain confidentiality and handle company property responsibly.
  • Follow all plant, housekeeping and safety instructions.
  • Do not operate machinery unless specifically authorised.
  • Do not touch electrical panels, moving machinery or hot equipment.
  • Do not dispose of any R&D, production or chemical material.
  • Report accidents, damage, leakage, unsafe conditions or unusual incidents immediately.
