Job Description

A Continental Chef is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality Continental cuisine while maintaining food quality, hygiene, and kitchen efficiency. The role includes menu planning, inventory management, and ensuring excellent guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook Continental dishes such as pasta, steaks, grills, sandwiches, salads, soups, and desserts.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, quality, portioning, and presentation.
  • Plan menus and introduce new recipes based on customer preferences.
  • Maintain kitchen hygiene and follow food safety standards.
  • Monitor inventory, stock levels, and coordinate procurement of ingredients.
  • Minimize food wastage and control kitchen costs.
  • Train and supervise junior kitchen staff.
  • Ensure timely food preparation and smooth kitchen operations.
  • Follow SOPs, HACCP, and FSSAI guidelines.
  • Coordinate with service staff and senior chefs for efficient service.

Requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree in Culinary Arts or Hotel Management.
  • 2–5 years of experience in Continental cuisine.
  • Strong knowledge of European cooking techniques and food presentation.
  • Good leadership, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
