Job Description
A Continental Chef is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality Continental cuisine while maintaining food quality, hygiene, and kitchen efficiency. The role includes menu planning, inventory management, and ensuring excellent guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook Continental dishes such as pasta, steaks, grills, sandwiches, salads, soups, and desserts.
- Ensure consistency in taste, quality, portioning, and presentation.
- Plan menus and introduce new recipes based on customer preferences.
- Maintain kitchen hygiene and follow food safety standards.
- Monitor inventory, stock levels, and coordinate procurement of ingredients.
- Minimize food wastage and control kitchen costs.
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff.
- Ensure timely food preparation and smooth kitchen operations.
- Follow SOPs, HACCP, and FSSAI guidelines.
- Coordinate with service staff and senior chefs for efficient service.
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Culinary Arts or Hotel Management.
- 2–5 years of experience in Continental cuisine.
- Strong knowledge of European cooking techniques and food presentation.
- Good leadership, communication, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
