Job Description

manages the dispensing of affordable, non-branded equivalent medications, verifies prescriptions, and educates patients on switching safely from branded to generic drugs.

Core Responsibilities

  • Dispensing & Verification: Check and execute valid prescriptions, ensuring the right generic molecule, strength, and dosage are dispensed to the patient.
  • Generic Substitution Guidance: Educate patients and doctors on cost-effective, FDA- or PCI-approved generic equivalents that match the efficacy of branded drugs.
  • Patient Counseling: Explain proper usage, dosage schedules, potential side effects, and storage conditions for generic medications.
  • Inventory Management: Track stock levels of fast-moving generic formulations, check batch expiry dates, and remove damaged or expired stock.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain statutory purchase and sales records, prescription logs, and adhere to local pharmacy and drug laws.
