1. Job ResponsibilitiesA. Refrigeration System Operations

• Operate and monitor refrigeration systems for frozen (-18°C to -25°C) and chiller (2°C to 8°C) chambers.
• Monitor compressors, condensers, evaporators, cooling towers and refrigeration pipelines.
• Maintain required temperature in all cold rooms.
• Monitor suction pressure, discharge pressure, oil pressure and refrigerant levels.
• Ensure proper functioning of defrost cycles and temperature controllers.

B. Preventive Maintenance

• Conduct daily inspection of refrigeration equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance of compressors, motors, pumps, fans and electrical panels.
• Check for refrigerant leakage, abnormal noise, vibration and overheating.
• Clean condenser and evaporator coils periodically.
• Maintain equipment maintenance schedules.

C. Breakdown & Troubleshooting

• Identify and attend refrigeration system breakdowns.
• Troubleshoot compressor, electrical, sensor and control panel issues.
• Ensure minimum downtime and uninterrupted cooling operations.
• Coordinate with external refrigeration engineers and service providers whenever required.

D. Temperature Monitoring

• Record chamber temperatures at regular intervals.
• Monitor temperature fluctuations and take corrective action.
• Ensure frozen and chiller products remain within prescribed temperature ranges.
• Immediately report any temperature deviations to management.

E. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain daily refrigeration operating logs.
• Record compressor running hours and electricity consumption.
• Maintain breakdown and preventive maintenance records.
• Report equipment performance and maintenance requirements.
• 2. Technical Skills RequiredKnowledge of industrial refrigeration systems.
• Experience with Freon-based refrigeration systems (R404A/R507 or similar).
• Knowledge of reciprocating and screw compressors.
• Understanding of electrical panels, motors, contactors and control systems.
• Knowledge of pressure gauges, temperature sensors and defrost systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot refrigeration breakdowns.
• 3. Additional ResponsibilitiesEnsure 24-hour refrigeration system availability through shift coordination.
• Follow electrical and refrigeration safety procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness in the plant room.
• Ensure standby compressors and backup equipment remain operational.
• Coordinate with warehouse operations to avoid temperature fluctuations during loading and unloading.
• 4. Candidate RequirementsITI / Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (preferred).
• 2–5 years of experience in industrial refrigeration or cold storage.
• Experience handling commercial or industrial refrigeration plants.
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts and attend emergency breakdowns.
