Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

As an Assistant Manager in MQA Transmission NGP at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of product quality on the Transmission assembly line. Your role will include regular monitoring and auditing to ensure strict adherence to defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Standard Operating Systems (SOS). You will conduct periodic in-depth product audits to proactively detect quality deviations and implement first-time-right approaches that drive excellence.

Education Qualification

The ideal candidate will possess a robust educational background in engineering disciplines relevant to production and mechanical manufacturing. A Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Automobile Engineering is preferred, as it provides a strong foundation in manufacturing processes, materials science, and quality management principles.

Alternatively, a Diploma in Engineering in any of these fields is also acceptable, given candidates exhibit proven practical exposure and competencies related to production engineering and quality assurance. Such qualifications ensure a comprehensive understanding of assembly processes and the technical challenges inherent in automotive transmission manufacturing.

Continuous professional development and certifications relevant to quality management, lean manufacturing, or process auditing will be considered advantageous and reflect a commitment to industry best practices and lifelong learning.

General Experience

A minimum of four to five years of professional experience is required, ideally within production environments focused on automotive or heavy machinery manufacturing sectors such as construction, mining, or tractor industries. This experience should include substantial involvement in sales planning and pricing activities, which provide valuable insight into market demands and cost competitiveness.

Familiarity with industry-standard processes, tools, and quality management systems such as SAP and internal auditing procedures is essential for effective performance in this role. Experience working within cross-functional teams to solve complex quality issues, coupled with an ability to drive continuous improvements, will also contribute significantly to success.

Prior roles that demonstrate leadership capability, strategic thinking, and project management skills will be highly valued, reflecting the candidate's readiness to take on responsibilities at an Assistant Manager level.

Critical Experience

Critical experience for this position includes having hands-on expertise in quality assurance specifically related to transmission assemblies or similar complex mechanical systems. Candidates should have a proven track record of implementing corrective and preventive actions based on customer feedback and production data analytics.

Strong competencies in conducting systematic process audits, driving root cause analysis, and leading KAIZEN events or other lean initiatives to boost first-time-right production rates are essential. Experience in managing MCAR (Materials Corrective Action Requests) and CVL (Customer Voice of the Line) response mechanisms will ensure timely resolution of quality issues and enhance customer satisfaction.

Expertise in handling critical Outgoing Rejection Control (ORC) challenges, facilitating cross-departmental coordination, and delivering sustainable solutions under pressure will be required to thrive in this role. Knowledge of automotive quality standards and continuous improvement methodologies aligned with Mahindra & Mahindra’s strategic vision will position the candidate for success.
