Area Legal Manager

This role would be responsible for identifying and analyzing legal issues, developing and implementing solutions to business and legal challenges, drafting and negotiating documents, presenting business-centric recommendations and assuring legal compliance. Also responsible for Timely filing and covering the exposure through legal by 100% as per policy and request received from Collections. Marking presence in all matters in the court and zero % dismissal of cases for default

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure provision of legal advice in framing/ review of policies and on all documents, contracts and agreements relating to the business operations to protect the organization against any legal exposure and minimize liability
• Advising and responding to legal inquiries from business that may relate to regulatory issues, labour laws, social media, privacy matters, ethical issues and general legal matters
• Ensure that operations are conducted in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Proactively monitoring statutory compliance, identifying gaps and highlighting the same for corrective actions
• Review legal communications from customers, service providers, third parties and government agencies, and draft responses to same in consultation with management
• Litigation Matters
• Appearing before various Courts, Tribunals, Commissions, Appellate Tribunals, and Regulatory Authorities to resolve critical issues
• Handling high-value fraud cases/defaulters / insolvent clients & initiating legal actions against them
• Planning the strategies and procedures to be followed in various cases
• Maintaining sustained contact with legal professionals and government officials for initiating and follow-ups on legal procedures and finalizing various legal agreements/matters of civil and criminal cases.
• Establish compliance standards and compliance frameworks based on internal policies and local law & regulations
• Planning and execution for achievement of targets as per the target sheets.
