Associate Manager - Lab Quality

Responsibilities

1. Laboratory Quality Management
  • Ensure implementation and compliance of QA systems.
  • Maintain ISO 17025 and NABL accreditation requirements.
  • Ensure analytical data reliability and traceability.
  • Review and approve analytical reports.
  • Drive continuous quality improvements.
2. Laboratory Operations Management
  • Ensure effective sample receipt, tracking, preparation, testing, and reporting.
  • Monitor laboratory TAT and productivity.
  • Optimize resource utilization and laboratory capacity.
  • Lead troubleshooting of analytical deviations.
3. Precious Metal Analysis & Assay Control
  • Ensure accuracy of gold, silver, precious metal analysis.
  • Validate fire assay and instrumental results.
  • Standardize assay methodology.
  • Monitor repeatability and reproducibility.
4. Instrument & Method Management
  • Ensure calibration, qualification, and maintenance of all analytical instruments.
  • Monitor method validation and uncertainty studies.
  • Lead procurement planning and AMC management.
5. Data Integrity & LIMS Governance
  • Ensure complete compliance with LIMS protocols.
  • Establish robust audit trails.
  • Prevent data integrity breaches.
  • Ensure accurate laboratory records.
6. NABL / ISO Audit Compliance
  • Lead internal and external audits.
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Close audit observations within timelines.
7. Safety, Health & Environment
  • Ensure zero harm laboratory operations.
  • Implement safe chemical handling practices.
  • Ensure environmental compliance.
8. Team Management & Capability Building
  • Lead chemists, analysts, and support personnel.
  • Develop technical competencies.
  • Implement performance management and succession planning.
9. Continuous Improvement & Cost Optimization
  • Improve laboratory efficiency.
  • Reduce analysis cost and reagent consumption.
  • Drive digitalization and automation initiatives.

Qualifications

  • M.Sc. Chemistry / Metallurgical Chemistry 
  • Experience: 12+ years in metallurgical, copper, precious metal or refinery laboratories with minimum 3–5 years in supervisory role.
