Role : Finance Analyst I
Shift : Afternoon
Job Overview
The Collections Specialist is involved in all areas of Morningstar’s accounts receivable process. This role is responsible for responsible for resolving overdue bills and collecting payments from those who owe, along with resolving escalated client issues, providing analysis on client invoices, and managing the invoice extension process. Other responsibilities include assisting Morningstar’s Sales teams with billing questions. Willing to work in EMEA or NAR shift timings will be 3 PM to 12 AM.

The team supports the growth of Morningstar by providing actionable insights on the company’s financial health, all while working with a fun, energetic team!
Outline of Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor accounts on a daily basis to Identify outstanding account receivables
- Investigate historical data for debts and bills
- Collaborate with other sub-process teams to resolve escalated invoices and client payment problems.
- Provide In depth analysis of client invoices including escalated aging buckets.
- Create Morningstar’s Quarterly Accounts Receivable reports.
- Manage approvals for payment extensions or exceptions outside of Morningstar’s standard cadence.
- Work with Morningstar’s Sales department to answer questions around billing and communicate any issues with accounts.
- Respond to a variety of inquiries from both customers email and phone calls.
- Communicate remittance information to the cash application team.
- Manage collections efforts for past due invoices by making calls and sending notices.
- Compile back-up documentation for 3rd party collection cases.
- Support to the accounting team with month-end close duties as needed.
- Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested.
Experience, Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 5-8 years of experience in a Shared Service or BPO environment.
- Proven experience as a Collection Specialist or similar role for EMEA or NAR will be plus
- Strong organization skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with any collection tool/systems a plus.
- Ability to work independently, under tight deadline at times, and in an ever changing/dynamic environment.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily.
