Video Content Editor Knowing Video Hook Creation

Role Overview

We're looking for a Video Editor who thinks like a video cutter - someone with an instinct for the emotional peaks in a scene, and the discipline to cut everything else away. This isn't about assembling footage in order; it's about finding the high-pitch moments - the punch lines, the reveals, the tension beats - and building them into short, high-impact edits that grab attention in the first few seconds and don't let go.

This role sits close to trailers, promos, and movie/OTT content, so candidates with a background in the entertainment industry - film, television, OTT, or production houses - will have a natural edge.

Key Responsibilities

• Watch raw footage and instinctively spot the “high” - the most compelling, high-energy, or emotionally charged moments - and build the edit around them
• Condense long-form footage into tight, minimal-runtime cuts (trailers, teasers, promos, sizzle reels) without losing the story or the impact
• Organize and maintain project files, footage, and assets systematically
• Video hook creation is a core requirement.
• Candidates must know how to grab viewer attention in the first three seconds. Please provide portfolio that shows high retention rates.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of professional video editing experience, with prior work on trailers, teasers, promos, or entertainment content - background in a film studio, OTT platform, production house, or entertainment media company strongly preferred
• A demonstrated ability to condense long footage into short, gripping cuts - this is a core requirement, not a nice-to-have
• A sharp sense of pacing and rhythm - knows how to build a hook, sustain tension, and land a punch
• Strong attention to detail and a good eye for visual aesthetics

Good to Have

• Direct experience cutting trailers or teasers for movies, web series, or OTT titles
• Familiarity with OTT and entertainment platform content formats
• Familiarity with social media content formats (Reels, Shorts, YouTube)
