Job Description – Steward (Café)
Job Summary
We are seeking a courteous, energetic, and customer-focused Steward to join our café team. The Steward will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards, assisting with food and beverage service, and ensuring guests have a pleasant dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist customers in a professional and friendly manner.
- Take customer orders accurately and communicate them to the kitchen/barista team.
- Serve food and beverages promptly according to café standards.
- Ensure tables, chairs, and dining areas are clean, organized, and properly set up.
- Clear used dishes, utensils, and glassware efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness of service stations and work areas throughout the shift.
- Assist in preparing the café before opening and closing procedures at the end of the day.
- Monitor stock levels of service items such as cutlery, napkins, condiments, and beverages.
- Handle customer queries and escalate complaints to supervisors when required.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines.
- Coordinate effectively with kitchen, barista, and cashier teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Support team members during peak business hours.
- Adhere to company policies, grooming standards, and workplace discipline.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10th or 12th pass (Hotel Management certification is an added advantage).
- 0–2 years of experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
- Freshers with a positive attitude and willingness to learn may also apply.

- Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.
