Senior Accountant – Job Description

Location: Malad West Mumbai (Work from Office) Monday to Saturday 9:30 am to 6:30 pm

Industry: Quick commerce / eCommerce FMCG and Pharma Domain

Experience Required: 5-7 years Package INR 6-8 lakhs depending on experience and skillset

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage accounting operations with a strong focus on ledger reconciliation, payables & receivables management, claims handling, and continuous process improvement. The candidate should possess strong analytical skills, excellent coordination abilities, and hands-on experience in handling high-volume transactions and stakeholder communication.

Key Responsibilities

Ledger Reconciliation

• Perform regular reconciliation of vendor and customer ledgers.
• Identify discrepancies, investigate variances, and ensure timely resolution.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external parties for reconciliation closures.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and reconciliation reports.
• Conduct regular meetings with Vendor partners accounts and supply chain teams for sing off.

Payables & Receivables Management

• Manage end-to-end accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Ensure timely vendor payments and customer collections.
• Monitor ageing reports and follow up on overdue balances.
• Maintain proper documentation and transaction records.

Claims Management

• Handle customer and vendor claims efficiently.
• Coordinate with operations, sales, logistics, and finance teams for claim validation and settlement.
• Maintain claim trackers and ensure timely closure of pending claims.
• Analyse recurring claim issues and recommend corrective actions.

Continuous Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting and reconciliation processes.
• Develop and implement process controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Automate manual reporting and operational workflows wherever possible.
• Support ERP/process enhancement initiatives and SOP development.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and reconciliation processes.
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, MIS reporting, etc.).
• Experience working with ERP/accounting software SAP will be preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in FMCG, eCommerce, retail, or distribution industries preferred.
