Reporting To: Hardware Lead / Project Lead / Application Engineer

Qualification
Candidates with any of the following qualifications may apply based on their interest and hands-on aptitude: ITI / Diploma / B.Sc. Any Graduate or equivalent qualification
Candidates from Instrumentation, Civil or related technical backgrounds will be preferred.
Freshers with a strong interest in field instrumentation, sensors, electronics, SHM, NDT, hardware testing, and site work are encouraged to apply.

Role Overview
Nirixense Technologies is looking for a Field Instrumentation Technician to support the development, testing, installation, deployment, commissioning, and maintenance of our SHM and NDT systems.
This is a highly hands-on role involving work with sensors, DAQs, electronics, cables, embedded systems, communication modules, instrumentation equipment, and field installation hardware.
The candidate will work in both laboratory and field environments and will support deployments at bridges, buildings, railways, construction sites, and other infrastructure projects.
The role is suitable for someone who enjoys practical engineering work, troubleshooting, field installations, working with tools, and learning new technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support installation and deployment of SHM and NDT systems at bridges, buildings, railways, and other infrastructure sites.
- Install sensors, DAQs, cables, connectors, communication modules, enclosures, and instrumentation systems.
- Assist with sensor mounting, wiring, cable routing, termination, and connection of field instrumentation.
- Perform basic sensor calibration, verification, and functional testing.
- Support hardware testing, validation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.
- Diagnose basic electrical, electronic, wiring, connector, cable, and sensor-related issues.
- Work with multimeters, soldering equipment, power supplies, oscilloscopes, and other testing tools where required.
- Support testing of electronics, embedded hardware, DAQs, communication modules, and sensor interfaces.
- Support field demonstrations, customer trials, commissioning, and project execution.
- Coordinate with and guide labour or site workers during installation activities.
- Assist with drilling, mounting, fastening, cable management, enclosure installation, and related field work.
- Ensure sensors and instrumentation equipment are installed according to project drawings and instructions.
- Maintain tools, instruments, sensors, cables, hardware, and project equipment.
- Maintain records related to installation, testing, calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and equipment usage.
- Support packing, preparation, transportation, installation, and removal of field equipment.
- Follow site safety procedures and instructions while working at infrastructure and construction sites.
- Provide observations and field feedback to engineering teams for product and installation improvements.
- Travel to customer and project locations across India whenever required.
Preferred Skills
- Basic understanding of electronics, electrical systems, instrumentation, and sensors.
- Basic understanding of civil and general engineering concepts.
- Familiarity with sensors such as accelerometers, strain gauges, displacement sensors, tilt sensors, temperature sensors, or similar instrumentation is an advantage.
- Hands-on experience with soldering, wiring, connectors, crimping, cable preparation, and basic electronics is preferred.
- Familiarity with oscilloscopes, power supplies, DAQs, or testing equipment is an advantage.
- Ability to understand basic wiring diagrams, connection diagrams, and installation drawings.
- Basic troubleshooting and fault-finding ability.
- Comfortable using hand tools and power tools required for field installation.
- Ability to work with technicians, engineers, labour teams, and customers at project sites.
- Basic computer skills for maintaining records, reports, test data, and documentation.
- Willingness to learn new sensors, instrumentation systems, SHM technologies, and NDT equipment.
- Willingness to travel and work at project sites.
- Comfortable working in both laboratory and outdoor field environments.
