Reports To: Founder (Chanda Gupta / CEO)

Experience: 8-15 years (Event Management / Experiential / Brand Activation background preferred)

Location: Mumbai

Compensation: ₹8 LPA - ₹12 LPA (depending on experience and network strength). This needs to be researched. We need a really good networked person with about 12-15 years of BD experience in events.


Role Objective:

Drive revenue growth, partnerships, and client relationships for Gharanaa. The role demands a proactive, strategic business professional who understands the events ecosystem - someone who can convert leads into long-term partnerships and ensure the company maintains a strong, profitable client base.


Key Responsibilities:

• Revenue Ownership: Build and execute the overall business development strategy to meet quarterly and annual revenue goals.

• Client Acquisition: Identify and target corporate clients, brands, and agencies for event management, activations, and experiential projects.

• Relationship Management: Maintain and grow relationships with key clients; act as the strategic point of contact between clients and internal teams.

• Pitching & Proposals: Lead ideation, proposal development, and presentations - collaborating with Creative and Production teams to create winning pitches.

• Market Research & Intelligence: Track trends in the event and experiential marketing industry; identify emerging opportunities and competitors.

• Team Leadership: Manage a small BD team (2-3 members); set goals, review performance, and mentor team members.

• Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with Creative and Production heads to align pitches, budgets, and deliverables with client expectations.

• Networking & Partnerships: Represent Gharannaa at industry events and other events, networking platforms, and corporate gatherings to build visibility and relationships.

• Revenue Forecasting & Reporting: Maintain accurate revenue projections, pipeline reports, and post-event ROI evaluations.

• Client Retention: Ensure repeat business through excellent servicing, proactive upselling, and relationship nurturing.


Key Requirements:

• 12-15 years of proven experience in Business Development in the event management, experiential marketing, or brand activation industry.

• Strong network of corporate clients, personal events clients and marketing decision-makers.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

• Deep understanding of event planning, production cycles, and cost structures.

• Ability to lead a team and coordinate cross-departmentally under tight timelines.

• High accountability, ownership mindset, and business acumen.

• Proficiency in proposal tools, MS Office / G-Suite; familiarity with CRM systems (HubSpot, Zoho, etc.) a plus.

• Strategic thinker who can balance short-term sales targets with long-term relationship building.


Expected Impact for the Role:

• Establish a strong new-business pipeline and convert at least high-value accounts in the first year.

• Increase repeat business and client retention through consistent relationship engagement.

• Build a well-performing 3-member BD team, trained in pitching and client management.

• Create a standardised proposal and pricing framework to reduce turnaround time for new pitches.

• Strengthen Gharannaa’s positioning as a premium creative event agency through strategic collaborations and corporate tie-ups.
