Job Description

Area Sales Manager (ASM)


Location: Mumbai / Navi Mumbai / Pune / Nashik (1 Position for Each Location)


Job Role

As an Area Sales Manager (ASM), you will be responsible for managing sales operations within your assigned territory, developing distributor networks, increasing market coverage, achieving sales targets, and leading a team of Sales Executives.


Key Responsibilities

Achieve monthly and annual sales targets for the assigned territory

Develop and manage distributor and dealer networks

Appoint new distributors and expand market coverage

Monitor secondary sales and ensure product availability across outlets

Lead, guide, and motivate Sales Executives to achieve sales objectives

Conduct regular market visits to identify business opportunities

Build strong relationships with retailers, wholesalers, and key accounts

Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and market trends

Ensure timely collections and maintain healthy distributor relationships

Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and market intelligence reports

Coordinate with management regarding sales performance and territory growth plans


Requirements

Experience in FMCG, beverage, packaged drinking water, or soft drink industry

Strong knowledge of distributor management and retail sales

Experience in handling sales teams and achieving targets

Good communication, negotiation, and leadership skills

Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory

Proficiency in MS Excel and sales reporting


Preferred Skills

Existing market knowledge and dealer network in the assigned city

Strong business development and relationship management skills

Ability to identify growth opportunities and execute market expansion plans

Self-motivated and target-oriented approach

Experience handling beverage or packaged water brands preferred
