Job Description
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, assembly drawings and shop details.
- Carry out marking, measuring, cutting, grinding, drilling and fit-up of steel components.
- Fabricate PEB components such as primary frames, columns, rafters, built-up sections, base plates, cleats, stiffeners, purlins and bracing members.
- Perform fit-up and assembly of built-up I-sections and structural steel components as per drawings.
- Ensure correct dimensions, alignment, squareness, levels and tolerances during fabrication.
- Prepare components for welding and coordinate with welders for proper welding execution.
- Check hole locations, bolt connections, end plates and other connection details.
- Use measuring instruments such as measuring tapes, steel rules, squares, spirit levels and vernier calipers.
- Coordinate with the welding, quality control, drilling and painting teams to ensure smooth production flow.
- Identify drawing discrepancies, material defects and dimensional deviations and report them to the supervisor.
- Follow approved welding procedures, quality requirements and safety practices.
- Maintain housekeeping and ensure proper handling and storage of materials.
- Minimize material wastage and rework while meeting production targets.
