Video Editor

We’re looking for a creative and skilled Video Editor who understands how to create engaging, high-quality content for social media. The role will primarily focus on short-form videos, including Instagram Reels, TikTok videos, YouTube Shorts and paid social media ads, with occasional long-form editing projects.

The ideal candidate has a strong sense of storytelling, understands social media trends and knows how to turn raw footage into content that captures attention and keeps viewers engaged.

• Key ResponsibilitiesEdit engaging, high-quality short-form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and social media advertising campaigns.
• Occasionally edit long-form content, including YouTube videos, interviews, podcasts and promotional videos.
• Create attention-grabbing hooks, smooth transitions, engaging captions and visually appealing edits.
• Repurpose existing footage and long-form content into engaging short-form clips.
• Use creative storytelling, pacing, music and sound effects to improve viewer engagement and retention.
• Stay updated with social media trends, viral content formats and emerging editing styles.
• Collaborate with the creative and marketing teams to bring content ideas and concepts to life.
• Ensure videos are optimised for different social media platforms while maintaining brand consistency.
• Manage multiple editing projects and deliver high-quality content within deadlines.

Requirements

• Proven experience in video editing, particularly short-form social media content.
• A strong portfolio showcasing previous video editing work.
• Strong understanding of pacing, storytelling, visual composition and audience retention.
• Ability to create engaging edits using captions, transitions, music and sound effects.
• Familiarity with current social media trends, content formats and editing techniques.
• Good understanding of colour correction, audio enhancement and overall video quality.
• Creativity, attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Ability to take feedback, make revisions and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in video editing tools of your choice.

Good to Have

• Experience editing paid social media ads and promotional content.
• Knowledge of motion graphics, animated typography and visual effects.
• Experience working with brands, content creators, influencers or marketing agencies.
• Understanding of what makes short-form content perform well on social media.
• Experience editing podcasts, interviews or other long-form video content.
• Ability to contribute creative ideas and suggest improvements to existing content.
