Food & Beverage Steward Job Description

• Role Summary: Entry-to-mid level position focused on direct guest service, order delivery, and maintaining table hygiene.
• Key Responsibilities:
• Welcome guests, seat them if needed, and present menus.
• Take accurate food and drink orders and pass them to the kitchen or bar.
• Serve dishes and beverages promptly following service standards.
• Clear dirty plates, reset tables with clean cutlery, glassware, and napkins, and stock side stations.
• Maintain personal grooming, hygiene, and a clean workspace.
• Handle basic guest requests and escalate complex complaints to the Captain.
• Requirements:
• Minimum 1 year of restaurant/hotel experience (or hospitality training/diploma).
• Basic spoken communication (local language and basic English).
• Physical stamina and ability to work rotational shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Restaurant / Floor Captain Job Description

• Role Summary: Mid-level leadership position overseeing a specific section of tables (usually 6–8 tables) and supervising a team of 2 to 4 stewards.
• Key Responsibilities:
• Pre-Service & Briefing: Inspect assigned sections, check table setups, verify POS and KOT (Kitchen Order Ticket) readiness, and run pre-shift huddles with stewards.
• Section Supervision: Allocate tasks, guide stewards, monitor service quality, and ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Guest Relations: Greet VIPs, assist with wine or menu recommendations (upselling), check in with tables mid-meal, and resolve guest complaints on the spot.
• Coordination: Act as the primary link between guests, the kitchen, and the bar to prevent bottlenecks.
• Post-Service: Handle bill presentations, settle payments, close POS records, and complete end-of-shift reports for the manager.
• Requirements:
• 2 to 4+ years of experience in a restaurant, hotel, or fine-dining environment.
• Strong leadership, customer-handling, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems (such as Petpooja) and menu/allergy knowledge.
