Section Head - Packaging

Role Overview

The Section Head – Packaging & Dispatch will be responsible for end-to-end packaging operations and timely, accurate dispatch of finished goods from ProFoodz's Manesar factory. The role requires strong shop-floor discipline, a sharp eye for packaging quality and food safety, and the ability to coordinate closely with production and logistics to ensure every order reaches the customer on time and in the right condition.

Key Responsibilities

•    Manage daily packaging operations, ensuring products are packed as per defined specifications, weight standards, and shelf-life requirements.

•    Lead, train, and supervise the packaging and dispatch team, allocating tasks to meet daily packing and dispatch targets.

•    Plan and oversee dispatch schedules, ensuring accurate, on-time loading and delivery in line with customer and route requirements.

•    Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards (FSSAI/HACCP) across the packaging and dispatch area at all times.

•    Coordinate with the Production team to align packaging output with production schedules and avoid bottlenecks.

•    Monitor packaging material stock (films, cartons, labels, etc.), minimize wastage, and raise timely indents for replenishment.

•    Ensure correct labelling, batch coding, and traceability of all dispatched products as per company and regulatory requirements.

•    Maintain dispatch records, delivery challans, vehicle logs, and stock movement reports accurately and on time.

•    Coordinate with logistics/transport partners to ensure vehicles are loaded correctly and dispatched without delays.

•    Troubleshoot packaging line issues or dispatch discrepancies on the floor and implement corrective actions quickly.

Candidate Requirements

•    2-3 years of hands-on experience in Packaging and Dispatch, gained with a factory dealing in food products.

•    Strong understanding of packaging line operations, batch coding, labelling, and dispatch documentation.

•    Prior experience in a section head, packaging supervisor, or equivalent leading role, managing a team on the floor.

•    Good understanding of food safety, hygiene practices, and quality standards in a food manufacturing environment.

•    Ability to plan and coordinate dispatch schedules under time pressure, with strong attention to accuracy.

Basic literacy to maintain dispatch records and communicate with supervisors and logistics partners.
