Speech Therapist

A speech therapist (or Speech-Language Pathologist) assesses, diagnoses, and treats speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in children and adults. They develop individualized treatment plans and use therapeutic exercises to improve communication and swallowing function.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluation & Diagnosis: Assess patient abilities through standardized tests, observations, and interviews to determine the severity and nature of disorders.
• Treatment Planning: Design and carry out customized therapy regimens targeting articulation, fluency, voice, language, or swallowing.
• Therapy Delivery: Conduct sessions involving repetitive exercises, language intervention, and oral motor/feeding therapy.
• Counseling: Provide guidance to patients and their families regarding coping strategies and ways to support progress at home.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records, treatment notes, and billing information.
• Collaboration: Communicate regularly with teachers, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to support the patient's holistic development
